Guide learners along the T Level pathway

T Levels are major commitments and not every post-16 learner may feel ready to dive into the full two-year programme. That’s where our T Level Foundation Courses come in!

These endorsed programmes deliver a purposeful and engaging technical foundation for learners considering full T Levels, enabling them to build their sector confidence, and develop applied skills, workplace awareness and an understanding of the pathways available to them.

What does ‘Endorsed’ mean?

Endorsement means that a course isn’t placed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and isn’t overseen by Ofqual. This provides additional flexibility for delivery to suit provider needs and contexts.

Informed by educators and industry experts

Our T Level Foundation Courses are fully mapped to the Department for Education’s (DfE) National Technical Outcomes and designed with input from educators and industry specialists.

During their programme, learners have the opportunity to engage with employers and make meaningful links between the areas they’re studying and the world of work. Additionally, the courses support personal development by encouraging learners to take ownership of their progress throughout.

How learners are assessed

Teachers know their pupils better than anyone, which is why they’re expected to create their own assessments for our Foundation Courses. Whatever form they take, assessment activities should enable learners to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and behaviours outlined across all outcomes, showing how these can be applied in realistic, work-related contexts to support progression to T Level study or employment.

Advertising and Titling

As a regulated awarding organisation, TQUK is subject to the Conditions of Recognition as set out by Ofqual.
These Conditions don’t just extend to us; all our centres must adhere to them as well.

When titling and advertising an endorsed course, centres must ensure that:

They do not mislead a student into believing they will gain a regulated qualification.

No marketing material describes a course as “regulated” or “nationally recognised”.

No marketing material describes a course as equivalent to a regulated qualification.

No marketing material states that a course meets industry standards for employment.
