Project Lead Jack Smith Wins Rising Star at FAB Awards

We’re thrilled to say that our Project Lead, Jack Smith, won Rising Star at the Federation of Awarding Bodies’ Qualifications and Assessments Excellence Awards on 27 November!

We live and breathe our core values here at TQUK; they’ve shaped our identity and helped us get to where we are today.

One of the values that really stands out for us is the willingness to learn - because when you’ve got that drive to reach for the stars, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.

Jack is the perfect example of this value in action: he’s always up for a challenge and never misses an opportunity to expand his skill set.

After picking up his prize, Jack said: "Winning this award is a proud moment that reflects my journey of growth and the supportive, collaborative culture that defines TQUK.

“It's a testament to how putting the team first and providing colleagues with great opportunities allows us to achieve amazing things.”

Andrew Walker, Managing Director at TQUK, adds: “I’m made up for Jack!

“Willingness to learn is one of our non-negotiable behaviours: we expect it of everyone who works here. Jack shows that mentality day-in, day-out and this award is recognition of his hard work and the culture of continual self-improvement that’s so important to our business.”

Jack’s journey at TQUK began back in 2022, when he joined as an EQA Officer. He quickly learned the ropes and demonstrated a knack for completing complex tasks and working collaboratively within the company and beyond.

Now, three years later, he’s completed a Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship with a distinction and is thriving in a mentorship role after hiring another APM apprentice.

Thanks to Jack’s innovation and determination, we’ve taken innovation to the next level, making life smoother for our staff, customers and learners. He’s proof that when you’re open to learning, amazing things can happen for yourself and the entire organisation.

Don’t just take our word for it though: here’s a little from the man himself!
