Business projects must be well-managed to ensure their success. An Associate Project Manager helps achieve this by understanding what needs to be done, how it will be done, how long it will take to do it and what it will cost. They work closely with a motivated and integrated team and use their knowledge, skills and behaviours to effectively meet the required project outcomes. As such, great organisational, planning, leadership, management and communication skills are a must in this role.
Apprenticeship Assessment Components
To complete their apprenticeship assessment, Associate Project Manager Apprentices must achieve a pass or distinction in the following two components.
-
A written project report involves the apprentice completing a significant and defined piece of work that has a real business application and benefit. The written project report must meet the needs of the employer’s business and be relevant to the apprentice’s occupation and apprenticeship.
This component has two elements:
written project report - 3500 words (+/- 10%)
presentation with questions and answers - 60 minutes (20 minutes presentation, 40 minutes questioning).
Together, these components give the apprentice the opportunity to demonstrate the KSBs mapped to this assessment method. They are assessed by an independent assessor.
-
Lasting 60 minutes (+10%), the professional discussion is a structured, two-way discussion between the apprentice and their Apprenticeship Assessment Assessor. The Apprenticeship Assessment Assessor will review the portfolio of evidence in order to prepare at least six questions. Follow-up questions are allowed where clarification is required.
