What’s happening?
The Department for Education (DfE) has announced major changes to the end-point assessment system. In fact, they’re so big it won’t even be called end-point assessment anymore.
Moving forwards, EPA will be known as ‘apprenticeship assessment’ as assessments can take place pre- and post-gateway (as long as the final assessment is post-gateway).
But that’s not all. Further changes include:
Training providers will be allowed to sign off on parts of their apprentices’ assessments.
Assessment plans will be cut in length and feature only the ‘must haves’ for occupational competency.
19+ apprentices only need to have attempted, not achieved, English and maths Functional Skills.
