Upcoming Qualification Developments at TQUK

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Working and Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (RQF)
The qualifications team is excited to announce that we’re in the process of redeveloping the TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities (RQF) alongside our partner The Skills Network. The title of the redeveloped qualification will be TQUK Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Working and Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (RQF).
We’ll be redeveloping the qualification using TSN resources, sector updates, subject experts and our existing TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (RQF) due to their similarities. Redeveloping this qualification ensures that the qualification is in line with sector requirements and limits confusion for centres, employers and learners when deciding what qualification, they should be completing.
We are looking at a quick turnaround for this redevelopment and are aiming for April regulation.
Once the new and improved qualification is regulated, we'll look to transfer the funding from the old qualification to the new one and withdraw the two current qualifications:

Level 5 Unmanned Aircraft System Operational Management Qualification
The Qualifications Team are delighted to let you know that we’re developing a Level 5 Unmanned Aircraft System Operational Management Qualification.
The development was inspired by the level 4 development that we completed in December. Following completion, it’s evident that there is a wider demand in the Drone industry for a regulated qualification. For instance, additional quality assurance, demand from employers wanting a regulated qualification and to access ELCAS funding which is used for military or ex-military personnel.
Whilst the level 4 qualification was developed based on the GVC documents produced and managed by the CAA, there are no requirements for operational management roles and responsibilities. The CAA is aware that there needs to be additional training for those who hold further responsibility and allow RAE centres to design their own training. This is where we come in and work with the RAE centres to ensure there is quality assurance and a consistent standard for employers to look to.
We’re currently working closely with ASG and Heliguy to ensure that the qualification reflects the variety of needs in the industry.
About CAA
CAA is the UKs aviation regulator. More specifically, their role and responsibility in the Drone industry is to provide permission for the operators looking to use drones for commercial purposes while also providing advice to the public and industry on how to fly drones safely and reduce any risk to aviation.
They also support innovative use of drone technology; however, their focus is on the risks that the future users pose to aviation to ensure they’re managed effectively.
We’re aiming to have the development completed by the end of April 2022.
