We take great pride in our position as a supplier of vocational education, offering a platform and pathway to success to learners around the world via Training Qualifications UK, TQUK-ESEA and TQUK-MENA.

The United Nations’ International Day of Education represents a great opportunity to celebrate learning around the world and reinforce the notion that learning never stops, to the benefit of individuals and cultures around the world.

The theme for the 2020 International Day of Education is ‘learning for people, planet, prosperity and peace’ perfectly encapsulates what education and learning can do to society. It highlights the integrated nature of education and how it can flow through absolutely everything we do on a day to day basis from personal targets to collective development.

Every person on Earth has a fundamental right to a good, public education and access to any learning avenue they so choose. Did you know:

  • 265 million children and adolescents around the world do not have the opportunity to enter or complete school
  • 617 million children and adolescents cannot read and do basic math
  • less than 40% of girls in sub-Saharan Africa complete lower secondary school and some four million children and youth refugees are out of school

Our business hubs in Dubai and Hong Kong are able to bridge the gap between the oceans in offering Training Qualifications UK regulated qualifications to learners around the world, and through these hubs we can support learners in the goals.

Training Qualifications UK has been working in conjunction with a number of education initiatives, partnering with academies and training providers to improve the quality of the qualification that learners are achieving.

We’ve partnered with UK universities in Sunderland and Wolverhampton to help learners with degree pathways, meaning that certain Training Qualifications UK vocational qualifications can help provide access to a British university education for learners around the world. Offering learners the opportunity to pursue UK qualifications opens so many doors that may have previously been closed off.

Katie Orr, Training Qualifications UK Awarding Director said: We believe that educating ourselves is one of the greatest gifts we can provide ourselves. It can take us to the places we dream about and roles we want to fulfil. We don’t take our position of an Awarding Organisation for granted and we come in every morning to work hard for those who are depending on to help them achieve their goals.”

Education for the People

Education enables us as a society to confront social challenges such as poverty, gender inequality, racism and social isolation. Education sits at the heart of both personal and communal development, and can be the catalyst for supporting people in the development of their talents and lead them on to further qualifications and job roles.

Daniel Au Yeung, TQUK-ESEA Marketing Director said: “Andrew (Training Qualifications UK Managing Director) and I attended an inspirational caregiver training provider graduation in Hong Kong last year and it was a pleasure to meet and speak with so many of them.’

‘They talked at length about their qualifications and how they hoped it would act as a springboard for greater things including learning and living around the world.’

‘We were deeply touched by the joy on their faces when we presented their certificates and it’s moments like this when we can appreciate our place in supporting learners chase their dreams.”

David Holliman, TQUK-MENA Chairman said: “With all eyes on Dubai for Expo 2020 the region is preparing to welcome the citizens of the world. We take pride in the knowledge that many of the staff working in retail, hospitality, education, and business have benefitted from TQUK’s suite of vocational education programmes.”

Education for the Planet

Formal, non-formal and informal learning opportunities can play a major role in the education of our planet. As a society, we need to collectively understand that a more environmentally sustainable home is a necessity moving forward and having that education and opportunity to learn means we can all work with governments the world over in improving the world in which we live.

David Holliman, TQUK-MENA Chairman said: “Sustainable growth is built on great education. With the number of centres in the region and completing students increasing every month, we are proud of our contribution to the development of the MENA region.”

An understanding that significant changes to current developments which are causing environmental change is an education that everyone can benefit from.

Katie Orr, Training Qualifications UK Awarding Director said: “Education empowers. Be it a requirement for a job, needed for entry to another course, or purely for fun, the act of learning gives us opportunities to engage with the world around us and be the best versions of ourselves.”

Education for Prosperity

Daniel Au Yeung, TQUK-ESEA Marketing Director said: “When you can actually see what learning and earning qualifications means to the learner and their families, the sacrifices and dedication needed to finish their qualifications and courses, it adds a tremendous amount of value to what we do every day and I’m especially proud of that.”

Education is the single universal tool that can enhance job opportunities, increase the incomes of the poorest and less affluent and in some situations reduce inequality. The reduction of educational disparity can help to increase access to decent work amongst disadvantaged people and societies around the globe.

Education for Peace

‘Education is a condition for political participation, inclusion, advocacy and democracy. In the best instances, education can catalyze and buttress peace, especially when access to it is equitable.’ – United Nations.

Training Qualifications UK endeavours to improve and develop our outreach to work with as many training providers around the world in order to enhance the opportunities available to learners. The development and growth of our business hubs in the Asian and North African regions are our stepping off points and we strive to reach regions around the world where opportunities and choice are limited by providing them with access to vocational qualifications to better their quality of living and increase the educational parity no matter where you are in the world.
